Expert Witness for the Hearing in the German Parliament on “Ratification of the Free Trade Agreement with Canada (CETA)”

Professor Steffen Hindelang was the expert witness for the Hearing in the Economic Affairs Committee of the Deutscher Bundestag on the Ratification of the Free Trade Agreement with Canada (CETA) held on 12 October 2022.
The Economic Committee had invited ten experts, and the vast majority of experts spoke out in favor of early ratification of the CETA law, including Professor Steffen Hindelang. While most experts no longer saw any reason to worry about arbitration or imports, there were two experts who advised rejecting the agreement outright as it stands.
